Associate Banker
Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking an Associate Banker for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Payments Technology Banking team to grow deposits and fee income for the bank. 
  • Build relationships with other members of the Payments Technology Banking team to support new and existing client relationships.
  • Responsible for pricing and cross-selling of the bank’s embedded payments products and services, including complex treasury management services such as ACH, Disbursement Services, Information Reporting, Card Sponsorship Programs.
  • Complete financial analysis, the underwriting and closing of new opportunities.
  • Work with team members to develop a strong referral and COI network to enhance the bank’s reputation in the marketplace.
  • Monitor client portfolios to evaluate financial, operational and compliance status.
  • Ensure client’s financial and compliance requirements are received and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Support new client implementation requirements and coordinate with internal teams as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision makers at targeted companies (CEO, CFO, VP Finance).
  • Regularly & efficiently communicate successes and challenges to direct Manager.
  • Participate in client calls with Senior Banker and Treasury Services Officer.
  • Comply with all the bank’s compliance requirements including Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or other related field.
  • 3-5 years of commercial banking, financial services, embedded payments experience.
  • Formal bank credit or risk management training experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a portfolio management, treasury services, risk management, auditing, or underwriting role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts to evaluate financial models, client audits and risks.
  • Knowledge in financial statement analysis and understanding of client cash flow cycle.
  • Sound credit and risk management judgment. 
  • Strong excel skills with complimenting mathematical and pricing and financial analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of Corporate Treasury Services and its application to the Payments & Fintech industries.
  • Commercial Credit Underwriting and Risk Management.
  • Understanding of Operating and Financial Risk Management.
