Operational Risk Advisor – RCSA

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Operational Risk Advisor – RCSA for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead enhancements to the bank’s RCSA program including Process, Risk and Control Taxonomy, risk assessment methodology, risk data integrity, and risk reporting of RCSA outcomes.
  • Coordinate with GRC Lead to integrate RCSA process and data into GRC tool.
  • Develop and deliver risk training to drive awareness by building strong relationships with risk peers, first line partners and the Audit team.
  • Partner with other risk leaders, front line units and external consultants as appropriate to make enhancements to RCSA methodology and process.
  • Provide risk oversight and challenges to front line units and identify and escalate key risks and issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective operational risk programs.
  • Provide thought leadership on the prioritization of enterprise and operational risk initiatives.
  • Foster open communication with regulators and support exams focused on operational risk management.
  • Build strong relationships with front line business units to establish risk program enhancements and risk activity execution.
  • Participate in industry forums to build relationships with other large banks across the industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of operational and enterprise risk management experience, including leadership roles.
  • Experience leading teams through change by creating a compelling vision for transformation.
  • Proven project management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects successfully.
  • Proficient at collaborating across business units and lines of defense and working with stakeholders to drive mutually beneficial processes and practices that meet the needs of the company.
  • Experience developing and managing enterprise and operational risk programs at a large bank.
  • Experience interacting with federal banking regulators including preparing for exams, presenting materials, and articulating the bank’s risk management strategy.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory guidance and transforming guidance into executable actions.
  • Ability to articulate the connections across risk programs and influence stakeholders to leverage risk data in business decision-making processes.
  • Proven ability at collaborating across the enterprise to solve complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change across the organization.
  • Experience utilizing GRC tools and other technology to manage risk data.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and executing RCSA programs.
