Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors on financial and business planning.
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support the Bank’s long-term goals.
- Participate in strategic decisions regarding mergers, acquisitions, and capital initiatives.
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, banking regulations, and all applicable federal/state laws.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, and examiners (FDIC, OCC/FRB, etc.).
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Analyze variances and trends to identify business risks and opportunities.
- Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Treasury & ALCO Oversight:
- Lead the Bank’s Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and manage interest rate risk, liquidity, and investment portfolios.
- Optimize balance sheet structure to support growth and profitability.
- Oversee capital planning, liquidity management, and funds transfer pricing.
- Regulatory & Risk Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings (Call Reports, FR Y-9, etc.).
- Monitor and manage regulatory capital requirements, CECL, and stress testing.
- Partner with internal audit and compliance functions to ensure sound risk governance.
- Operational Leadership:
- Lead finance, accounting, and treasury departments, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Enhance financial systems, controls, and processes to support scalable growth.
- Manage relationships with vendors and financial technology partners.
- Board & Investor Relations:
- Prepare and present financial updates to the Board of Directors and various Board committees (Audit, Risk, Finance).
- Serve as a primary liaison with shareholders and investors if the bank is publicly traded or privately held with external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience in banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of bank operations, regulatory environment, and capital markets.
- Experience in a similarly sized or larger financial institution ($1B+ preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with ALM, CECL, and regulatory reporting.
- Proven strategic thinking, financial acumen, and executive communication skills.
