Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist for a contract opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily participation activity reports for financial transactions.
• Reconcile and remit funds within 24 hours of the transaction date via wire, deposit account, or check.
• Communicate transaction activity and interest rate changes to participating banks.
• Send periodic audit confirmations to participating banks to ensure accuracy of system accruals, participation balances, and ownership percentages.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of SBA rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
• Assist with the setup of new SBA loans and loan modifications on the loan core system and board loans into the SBA servicing system.
• Monitor daily SBA activity reports and reconcile financial transactions.
• Remit funds for loan payoffs, delinquency payments on sold loans, monthly guarantee fees, and non-delinquent sold loan payments via the SBA 1502 report.
• Ensure all remittances are submitted within required deadlines to avoid penalties and maintain Preferred Lender status.
• Verify and maintain accurate accruals, balances, and sold percentages between the core system and PCFS.
• Set up new escrow payee account segments on the loan core system.
• Review escrow payable reports and ensure timely payment of real estate taxes, property insurance, and flood insurance.
• Ensure receipt of new tax bills and insurance premium invoices and update the core system accordingly.
• Perform annual escrow analyses and review results for accuracy.
• Prevent penalties by ensuring all escrow disbursements are made on time.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of commercial loan servicing processes and financial transactions.
• Experience working with loan core systems; familiarity with SBA servicing systems preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of SBA rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• High attention to detail with strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage high-dollar, time-sensitive transactions with accuracy and urgency.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with participating banks and internal partners.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict regulatory and payment deadlines.
