CAP Insurance Accountant

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a CAP Insurance Accountant for a contract opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

  • Support fiduciary accounting operations in the area of accounts payable, particular in carrier payable.
  • Handle 30 different carrier statements.
  • Match payables per carrier bordereaux statements to AP shown in AMS (accounting GL system).
  • Email account rep & carrier contacts if there is any discrepancy between carrier statement and AMS.
  • Relieve AP once verified for accuracy.
  • Make journal entries in AMS for bank transfer entries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Accounting Background. 
  • 2-3 years of work experience in accounts payable. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong excel skills (VLOOKUP/pivot tables are mandatory).
