Senior Tax Manager
Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations by overseeing the timely preparation and filing of tax-related obligations for assigned clients.
- Serve as a key point of contact for Trust Officers and Financial Advisors, fostering strong and productive working relationships.
- Direct the day-to-day activities and strategic priorities of the Trust Tax Services function.
- Research, address, and resolve inquiries, notices, and assessments issued by taxing authorities at all governmental levels.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and evaluate their impact on client accounts and tax reporting requirements.
- Demonstrate experience within a corporate trustee, trust administration, wealth management, or comparable fiduciary services environment.
- Lead tax operations, process improvements, and drive team development efforts.
- Mentor and support team members through technical guidance, professional development, and coaching.
- Manage resource allocation, workflow oversight, and review processes to maintain high-quality service delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Carry out other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related.
- Advanced degree in Taxation or an LL.M. in Taxation is preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, planning, or advisory services.
- Active professional designation such as CPA, EA, or JD.
- Comprehensive understanding of complex federal, state, and local tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with international trust taxation and FATCA compliance standards.
- Knowledge of Nevada trust taxation practices is a plus.
- Proven ability to interpret IRS regulations and apply tax rules to trust and account activity.
- Strong technical aptitude with experience utilizing multiple software applications, tax systems, and digital platforms.
- Demonstrated success in building partnerships, collaborating across business functions, and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
