Audit Manager Senior, Commercial Loan Operations

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Audit Manager Senior, Commercial Loan Operations for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reviewing and assessing the bank’s wholesale lending operations.
• Identify and evaluate the risks associated with wholesale lending activities. 
• Ensure that transactions comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal standards 
• Review the documentation of loans to ensure that they are properly documented and meet the legal and regulatory requirements.
• Establish audit reports that summarize findings, identify weaknesses, and provided recommendations for improvement and present these reports to key stakeholders.  
• Assess relevance of audit findings, potential exposures, materiality and demonstrate awareness of big picture issues.
• Coach and mentor new and junior team members, providing effective project feedback, and setting clear performance expectations.
• Foster relationship between audit management and assigned lines of business or business units.
• Evaluate associated risk profiles to help ensure appropriate audit coverage.
• Pursue continuing education and possibly additional professional certifications, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field, or equivalent education and related training or experience.
• 8 – 10 years of experience in audit, preferably in a role similar to an Audit Project Leader.
• Advanced knowledge, ability and expertise in audit.
• Substantial leadership experience and demonstrated decision making skills.
• In-depth knowledge of wholesale lending products like term loans, syndicated loans, lines of credit, and trade finance.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, risk management practices, and accounting principles. 
• Analytical skills to assess loan portfolios, spot potential issues, and understand financial data.
• Appropriate professional certification, such as, but not limited to Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Certified Public Accountant.
• Advanced degree preferred.
