Senior Relationship Manager

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Senior Relationship Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage commercial client relationships by identifying lending, deposit, and treasury opportunities while promoting the bank’s products and services.
  • Prospect new business, structure and negotiate loan opportunities, and guide deals through underwriting, approval, documentation, and closing.
  • Serve as the primary banking contact for clients by understanding their business operations, cash flow, and financial goals, while conducting ongoing relationship reviews.
  • Analyze financial statements, assess credit risk, structure lending solutions, and support sound underwriting and portfolio management practices.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, including renewals, maturities, delinquencies, and risk ratings, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and bank policies.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and leadership to deliver a strong client experience and support joint business development efforts.
  • Build and maintain referral networks through community involvement, strategic partnerships, and industry engagement.
  • Drive portfolio growth and revenue production by meeting or exceeding established sales and performance goals.
  • Assist with problem loan resolution and work with Special Assets when needed to protect the bank’s interests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 9+ years of commercial banking, commercial credit, consumer, or small business banking experience.
  • 4+ years managing complex commercial client portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending, credit analysis, risk management, and banking policies/procedures.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and expand existing client relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and advanced financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to balance client needs with sound risk management practices.
