Financial Analyst

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

**Candidates must have a strong blend of financial acumen and advanced data analytics capabilities**

Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes using financial systems, spreadsheet models, and Power BI dashboards, partnering closely with Senior Leadership to deliver accurate and actionable financial plans
  • Perform variance analysis, identify key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, and translate findings into Power BI visualizations and reports for management
  • Present financial insights to Senior Leadership using interactive Power BI dashboards and data storytelling techniques
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and financial models to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and critical financial metrics
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, leveraging Power BI for data visualization, trend analysis, and executive-level reporting
  • Support stakeholders across the organization by building Power BI reports that track business drivers, financial impact, and progress toward strategic goals
  • Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and other departments to ensure alignment between financial data, reporting outputs, and Power BI datasets/models
  • Review, analyze, and create data related to financial statements, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and consistency across Power BI reporting environments
  • Contribute to the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate data integration into Power BI reporting tools

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or FP&A
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including financial statements, forecasting, and budgeting, with the ability to translate data into Power BI insights and dashboards
  • Proven experience in financial modeling and analysis, with the ability to integrate outputs into Power BI visual reporting
  • Proficiency in Power BI 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to connect and transform data for Power BI use cases
  • Familiarity with tools such as Hyperion Essbase, Alteryx, and Tableau, with Power BI as a primary or preferred reporting platform
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data through Power BI dashboards and visual storytelling
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally and delivering shared Power BI reporting solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a data-driven environment
