Branch Manager – Retail Banking

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Branch Manager – Retail Banking for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

  •  Lead a high-performing, customer-focused branch culture that promotes service excellence, accountability, and employee engagement
  • Oversee daily branch operations, compliance, security, cash management, and adherence to bank policies and procedures
  • Manage branch staff through effective performance management and ongoing development
  • Handle annual performance appraisals for branch staff and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  •  Deliver exceptional customer service by identifying needs, resolving issues, and providing appropriate banking solutions
  • Ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls through ongoing monitoring and reporting
  • Represent the bank within the community through networking, business development, and community engagement activities
  • Maintain knowledge of bank products and services while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of proven experience in branch management or a similar leadership role within the banking or financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of bank products, banking operations, policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and operational risk management
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a customer-focused environment
  • Results-driven approach with demonstrated success managing branch performance, customer relationships, and operational efficiency
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, conflict-resolution, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking abilities with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Notary certification preferred
  • Experience with Alkami is a plus
