Project Manager, Conversion Specialist

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Conversion Specialist  for a consultant opportunity with a financial services client.
Responsibilities:

• Lead conversion projects across large-scale banking initiatives.
• Develop and govern an integrated master schedule across internal stakeholders, vendors, card networks, and conversion workstreams.
• Lead current-state and future-state process mapping and documentation efforts.
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams associated with conversion activities and post-conversion stabilization efforts.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Track project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to ensure cost-effective delivery.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies between consumer credit card operations, vendors, technology teams, and business stakeholders.
• Support organizational change initiatives, including communication strategies.
• Coordinate with vendors and consultants as needed to support project delivery.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• 7+ years of project management experience within banking or financial services environments.
• Proven expertise in card portfolio conversions, card reissuance programs, and credit card operational processes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across executive leadership, vendors, operations, and technology teams.
• Prior experience supporting bank conversions or large-scale transformation initiatives strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools including Agile, Waterfall, Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
• PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certifications preferred.
